Natural trail walk from Kalandra to Mendi this Sunday

Best way to start your Sunday? How about a short hike during the sunrise, followed by a refreshing dip in the crystal waters of Mendi? The cultural committee of Kassandra is organising a hiking trail from Kalandra to the Historical site of Mendi this Sunday, 23/08/2026. This event is part of the Kassandromena festival, which takes place every year in Kassandra, and showcases aspects of local nature and art. We will take part in their walking trail, that is their 17th one. Besides the hiking excursion, the Kassandromena festival includes concerts, art exhibitions, concerts, and festivities with food, music, and alcohol! This trail a great opportunity to explore the mountainous part of Kassandra. All of this gratis! A bus is picking you up at 7am from Kassandreia (Ethniki bank) and brings you back around 1pm. The tour includes transportation, a guided hike (slow pace) by locals who have known their hills since the day they were born. The day continues in the museum that we get to see the art exhibition of Paraskevas Mageiras, one of the most significant local artists of our times. We will also make a stop to the Mendi hotel for a swim, so get your swimsuit! There will be water provided, and available coffee and snacks for purchase.
